Indian-American wealth in Collin County: 47,600 new residents in five years

Collin County added more Asian Indian residents than any other US county between the last two Census surveys. Frisco leads our $1M+ count.

Collin County, north of Dallas, has about 119,400 residents of Asian Indian descent, up from about 71,800 in the 2015–2019 survey [1][2]. That gain of about 47,600 people is the largest of any US county in our comparison of the two surveys, and it makes Collin the largest Indian-American county in Texas [1][2] (our calculation).

Our database shows what that growth looks like financially: a very large base of households in the first $1M band, and a small but real upper tier.

  • 119,401 residents of Asian Indian descent (alone or in combination) in Collin County, Texas, 2020–2024 average [1], or 10.3% of the population [3].
  • +66.2% versus the 2015–2019 estimate of 71,840 [1][2] (our calculation).
  • 2,590 people in the HeyAlbert database placed in Collin County, Texas at an estimated $1M+, of whom 210 are in our $5M+ bands [8].

What the HeyAlbert database shows in Collin County, Texas

HeyAlbert builds profiles of Indian-American individuals with an estimated net worth of $1M or more from public records, and every estimate is tied to a cited source. Cities in our database are matched by name to the Census places and townships in the county; a few that straddle a county line are counted whole, and large cities that extend well beyond the county are left out.

Our database places 2,590 people in Collin County at $1M+, but only 210 at $5M+ [8]. Frisco has 1,495 of them, fewer than 25 at $5M+ [8]. Prosper has 300, almost all in the first band [8]. Plano (242, with 50 at $5M+) and Richardson (38, with 21 at $5M+) lean higher [8].

Why our Collin County, Texas count looks the way it does

Each estimate in our database rests on a primary piece of public evidence. The mix differs from place to place, depending on which records we have been able to process, and it shapes the counts above more than any real difference in wealth does [8].

Primary evidence for the estimatePeopleShare
Home value (public assessor or listing records)2,37792%
Other public signals (executive roles, company filings, gifts, pay)2138%

About 92% of our Collin County estimates rest on home values [8]. The county's new, large homes have pushed thousands of tech, finance and healthcare households past $1M. Business and investment wealth is much less visible in that evidence.

What it means if you work with these families

Collin County is the single biggest growth story in Indian-American geography. Frisco, Prosper, Plano and Celina are full of young families who have reached $1M through careers and home equity. For advisors, it is a volume market where the first relationship is often the planning one.

Methodology

Census figures are American Community Survey 5-year estimates for 2020–2024 and 2015–2019, Table B02018, using “Asian Indian, alone or in any combination” [1][2]. Total population comes from Table B01003 [3]. The Census Bureau changed how it codes detailed race responses in 2020, so part of the change between the two periods may reflect coding rather than migration. All estimates carry margins of error. Shares and growth rates are our calculations.

HeyAlbert counts are aggregates from our database as of October 2026 [8]. They include people we identified as likely of Indian origin with an estimated net worth of $1M or more, based on public records such as property assessments, professional licenses, patents, SEC filings and donor rolls. Coverage is partial and depends on which public records exist and which we have processed. These counts are not population totals. Any cell under 25 is suppressed, and we publish aggregates only, never individual records.
