Missouri: half of the state's Indian Americans live in St. Louis County
St. Louis County holds about half of Missouri's 41,300 Asian Indian residents. All four Missouri cities with 25+ people in our $1M+ set are there.
Missouri has about 41,300 residents of Asian Indian descent, up about 27% from the 2015–2019 survey [1][2]. They are 0.7% of the state [1][3].
About half of them, some 20,700, live in St. Louis County (our calculation) [4][5]. Our data points the same way: every Missouri city with at least 25 people in our database is in that county [8].
- 41,272 residents of Asian Indian descent (alone or in combination) in Missouri, 2020–2024 average [1], or 0.7% of the population [3].
- +27.2% versus the 2015–2019 estimate of 32,457 [1][2] (our calculation).
- 465 people in the HeyAlbert database placed in Missouri at an estimated $1M+, of whom 58 are in our $5M+ bands [8].
Where Missouri's Indian-American residents live, by county
The Census Bureau's American Community Survey counts 41,272 people who report Asian Indian ancestry, alone or with another group, in Missouri [1]. St. Louis County holds 50% of them, and the three largest counties together hold 70% [4][5] (our calculation).

| County | 2020–2024 | 2015–2019 | Change | Share of county |

St. Charles County is second at about 5,300 [4][5]. On the Kansas City side, Clay County nearly doubled, up about 93% to about 1,700 [4][5]. Maryland Heights has the highest share of any larger place, 16%, followed by Chesterfield at 8% [6].
The most concentrated communities
Raw counts favor big cities. Ranking places of 20,000+ residents by the share who report Asian Indian ancestry gives a different map [6][7]:
| Place | Asian Indian residents | Total population | Share |
|---|---|---|---|
| Maryland Heights | 4,410 | 27,880 | 15.8% |
| Chesterfield | 3,879 | 49,574 | 7.8% |
| Ballwin | 1,261 | 31,279 | 4.0% |
| Wildwood | 1,222 | 35,133 | 3.5% |
| O'Fallon | 2,391 | 93,801 | 2.5% |
| Columbia | 1,782 | 128,548 | 1.4% |
| St. Louis | 2,570 | 288,512 | 0.9% |

What the HeyAlbert database shows in Missouri
HeyAlbert builds profiles of Indian-American individuals with an estimated net worth of $1M or more from public records, and every estimate is tied to a cited source. Our database currently places 465 such people in Missouri [8]. That is a count of people we have found and estimated, not a census of wealthy households: our coverage is partial and uneven.
| Estimated net-worth band | People in our database |
|---|---|
| $1M–5M | 407 |
| $5M–15M | 43 |
| $25M+ (probable) | <25 |
| $25M+ (likely) | <25 |
| Total, $1M+ | 465 |
Source: HeyAlbert database [8]. Bands are estimates from public evidence; “likely” and “probable” describe our confidence in the $25M+ tier. Cells under 25 are suppressed.

| City | $1M+ | of which $5M+ | of which $25M+ |
|---|---|---|---|
| Chesterfield | 43 | <25 | <25 |
| Town & Country | 41 | <25 | <25 |
| Ladue | 27 | <25 | <25 |
| Creve Coeur | 25 | <25 | <25 |
Source: HeyAlbert database [8]. Cities with 25+ people at $1M+; cells under 25 shown as <25. The city is where our sources place the person; for some records it is a workplace rather than a home.
Our database places 465 people in Missouri at $1M+, 58 at $5M+ and fewer than 25 in our $25M+ bands [8]. Chesterfield has 43 people in our set, Town and Country 41, Ladue 27 and Creve Coeur 25; each has fewer than 25 at $5M+ [8].
Why our Missouri count looks the way it does
Each estimate in our database rests on a primary piece of public evidence. The mix differs from place to place, depending on which records we have been able to process, and it shapes the counts above more than any real difference in wealth does [8].
| Primary evidence for the estimate | People | Share |
|---|---|---|
| Home value (public assessor or listing records) | 206 | 44% |
| Other public signals (executive roles, company filings, gifts, pay) | 152 | 33% |
| Physician (NPI registry; seniority and specialty estimate) | 107 | 23% |
Source: HeyAlbert database [8], people at $1M+. Categories under 25 not shown.
Home values support 206 of our Missouri estimates, physician estimates 107 and other public signals 152 [8]. The home-value share reflects the west St. Louis County suburbs, where most of our set lives.
What it means if you work with these families
Missouri is a one-county market for now. Advisors can cover most of what we see by focusing on west St. Louis County, while watching Clay County's growth near Kansas City.
Methodology
Census figures are American Community Survey 5-year estimates for 2020–2024 and 2015–2019, Table B02018, using “Asian Indian, alone or in any combination” [1][2]. Total population comes from Table B01003 [3]. The Census Bureau changed how it codes detailed race responses in 2020, so part of the change between the two periods may reflect coding rather than migration. All estimates carry margins of error. Shares and growth rates are our calculations.
HeyAlbert counts are aggregates from our database as of October 2026 [8]. They include people we identified as likely of Indian origin with an estimated net worth of $1M or more, based on public records such as property assessments, professional licenses, patents, SEC filings and donor rolls. Coverage is partial and depends on which public records exist and which we have processed. These counts are not population totals. Any cell under 25 is suppressed, and we publish aggregates only, never individual records.
